Came here after reading about the recording in Ian Brodies book. I don't know how the Bunnymen passed me by but I suppose I had a young family at the time. Saw them on St George's Plateau on NYE 2,000. Excellent track, I think I will be listening to their back catalogue over the next few months.

Man, Pete was just a beast on those skins. Just a killer drummer who never got the recognition he deserved during his all-too-short lifetime. Those of us who knew, knew. For me he was right up there with the greatest drummers of all time… and he was just a kid when they cut those classic albums. Still a teenager on the first two. I’m a lifer where Echo is concerned. The first four albums are burned into my soul at this point, and I still go see them whenever the opportunity presents itself and don’t dislike the post-reunion albums (though they’re not even in the same universe as the first four). However, ever since Pete’s departure there has always been something big missing, and it’s a hole that will never be filled. Drummers of Pete’s caliber are extremely few and far between. Rest in power

Didn't know anything about this band back then or now apart from their hit The Cutter. On first listen here and now in the present day, this song is awesome. The underground sound here which evolved into grunge I would say. Who cares as to say "whatever", this song is awesome to.
